The Roofing Warranty Certificate is an essential document for homeowners who have recently installed a new roof. This certificate, issued by MCS Roofing, outlines the key benefits and terms of the warranty. Homeowners can enjoy a lifetime craftsmanship coverage, ensuring that the roof will remain free from leaks caused by poor installation for up to 50 years. Additionally, the warranty is transferable, allowing future homeowners to benefit from the same protections, provided the transfer is documented in writing. However, certain conditions must be met for the warranty to remain valid. For instance, the installation must be fully completed and paid for before the warranty takes effect. Homeowners should also be aware that the warranty does not cover damages from defective materials or issues arising from the structure beneath the roof. Regular maintenance is crucial, as the roof must be cleaned every two years by MCS Roofing to keep the warranty in force. Exclusions include damages from natural disasters and any alterations made to the roof. Understanding these details helps homeowners safeguard their investment and ensures they are aware of their responsibilities under the warranty.

Understanding Roofing Warranty Certificate

What is covered under the Roofing Warranty Certificate?

The Roofing Warranty Certificate provides homeowners with a lifetime craftsmanship coverage. This means that the roof installed by MCS Roofing is guaranteed to be free from leaks caused by substandard installation for a period of up to 50 years from the warranty issue date. Additionally, the warranty is transferable, allowing new homeowners to benefit from the same protections as the original buyer, provided the transfer is documented in writing.

What are the conditions for the warranty to be valid?

For the warranty to take effect, the roof installation must be completed, and all associated materials and labor costs must be fully paid. It is crucial for homeowners to promptly notify MCS Roofing of any issues that arise. If the problem is due to workmanship, MCS Roofing will address it at no charge. However, if the issue stems from other causes, reasonable repair charges may apply. Additionally, homeowners must ensure the roof is cleaned every two years by MCS Roofing to maintain the warranty's validity.

Are there any exclusions to the warranty coverage?

Yes, there are several exclusions outlined in the warranty. These include damage caused by natural disasters such as fires, floods, or earthquakes, as well as structural failures of the underlying roof deck or building. The warranty does not cover damages resulting from alterations or tampering with the roof, including installations or equipment that penetrate the roof surface. Homeowners should be aware that MCS Roofing is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages that may arise from the roof installation, beyond the provisions of this warranty.

How can a homeowner transfer the warranty to a new buyer?

The warranty is fully transferable to new homeowners, but it requires a written request from the transferee, which must be signed by the original homeowner (the transferor). This process ensures that the new owner can enjoy the same protections as the initial buyer, maintaining the integrity of the warranty coverage.

What should a homeowner do if they encounter a problem with their roof?

If any issues arise with the roof, homeowners should immediately contact MCS Roofing. Prompt notification is essential, as delays may void the warranty. If the issue is due to workmanship, MCS Roofing will rectify it at no cost. However, if the problem is not related to their workmanship, homeowners may incur charges for repairs. It is important to keep a record of all communications and repairs to ensure the warranty remains intact.
